The seminar series were presented by Qin Li Law Firm together with China Legal Union. The details of the Shanghai session have been shared earlier, and the Shenzhen session will be held on November 30. You can find registration information at the end of the message.
In the digital age, data has become sustenance and a key driver for momentum of business development. As data rates accelerate and information explodes, data transmission has raised global concerns and urged governments to enact related legislation. The Cyber Security Law, which took effect on 1 June 2017, together with supporting regulations on cross-border transmission of personal, sensitive and confidential data, set forth explicit and rigid regulatory requirements for cross-border data transmission.
After years of rapid economic development, the Chinese market has stood out as the strategic development focus of ever more MNCs. In the course of conducting business in China, enterprises generate a deluge of content that requires synchronization with overseas data centres. In addition, business outsourcing as well as data processing and analysis is a common occurrence globally. In this regard, how will the advancement of regulations, implementation and supervision on cross-border data transmission impact enterprise activities such as business processes, system architecture and data transmission? What actions should we take as a result? How should we prepare and respond at this stage?
Qin Li Law Firm is at the forefront of the industry, proactively examining the regulatory updates on cross-border data transmission. On the 5th anniversary of the Firm (as a member of the Deloitte Legal global network) and concurrently celebrating our Beijing branch opening, we will hold the "Digital Law Seminar Series – Is your cross-border data transmission compliant and secure?" together with China Legal Union in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Together with related government officials and enterprise representatives, cyber risk service experts from Deloitte China will explore the following topics from professional perspectives such as regulatory updates, legal compliance, cross-border data risk assessment and countermeasures:
Regulatory compliance – Status quo and latest trends of supervision on cross-border data transmission
Impact analysis – Impact analysis of Cyber Security Law and regulatory requirements for cross-border data transmission
Countermeasures – Introduction to methods of Cyber Security Law pre-assessment and cross-border data risk assessment
We look forward to your participation!
